Verity is the firm’s Managing Partner and heads up the firm’s Family Department. Qualifying as a solicitor in 1985, she joined the practice in 1986 and has specialised in Family Law developing significant expertise in divorce and children matters. Practical and approachable with a calm and reassuring manner Verity has an excellent local reputation.

As a qualified Collaborative Lawyer and Mediator, in addition to being a Member of Resolution, Verity is committed to promoting a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family. As a member of the Law Society’s Advanced Family Panel, she has extensive experience in all aspects of Family Law including divorce and finance, separations, children cases, property disputes and care proceedings.

As a former President of the Newcastle Law Society, she is a previous winner of the Newcastle Upon Tyne Lawyer of the Year award for opposing the Government’s cuts to criminal legal aid. 

Verity holds a number of volunteer positions including Chairing the Local Leisure trust, and the Swim England Masters Working Group. She is married with a daughter, and in the few hours she has which are not spent chained to her desk or sleeping, Verity can usually be found at the local swimming pool.
